This Early American Pattern Glass treasure measures 10 1/2" in diameter x 5" high x 4 3/4 across the plump, scalloped floral-shaped base. The plate has a shallow, dimpled well in the center, and the perimeter features the "crimped" or "pie-crust" rim that was an early predecessor to the style for which Fenton Glass is so well known.... The glass is crystal clear and bright! There are the usual old mould marks from the glassmaking process, like tiny bubbles, swirls/striations.Straw marks, mould seam roughness and unique moulding anomalies; all characteristics inherent to antique pressed glass. The "crimped" or "pie crust" rim is beautifully pressed (perhaps even done by hand), with a crimp or two being a touch flatter than others. There is some fine, light wear on the plate, as seen in the pictures.
And on the inner rim of the base, there are a few very minor bites. An exquisite piece of EAPG with details galore....
