1850s 1/2 Half Plate Clear Glass Ambrotype Photo Boy and Proud Mother Used. Clear glass with black backing. Portrait of a handsome young man with his proud mother. Gilt accented jewelery and slightly tinted cheeks. Comes with brass mat, preserver and very thick protective glass. 1/2 Plate in size, approx. With a case they'd look lovely! Great addition to any Collection! NOTE Picture shown with and without black paper backing to demonstrate, paper is not included. We have recently acquired a large collection of Civil War Images, 19th Century Thermoplastic "Union" and other Cases, and other various 19th Century Images. Condition: Very Good overall condition. Image shows a few mild scratches. Lacquer on back appears to have been redone by paint at some point. Brass mat and preserver show mild patina.
