Antique HEISEY Glass EAPG Pedestal CAKE STAND Plate SalverBeaded SAWTOOTH BAND
It's a VERY ELEGANT and EXQUISITE Heisey Glass treasure indeed..... SIGNED in the brandy well with the "H in DIAMOND" mark, which Heisey started using in 1901. It measures 8 1/2" in diameter x 4 3/4" high x 4 3/4 across the base. It's in EXCELLENT CONDITION, with some utensil-like/storage marks on the underside of the plate, and a small chip on the base of the pedestal. The PETITE BEADING that embellishes the perimeter of the plate is PRISTINE.... A vulnerable area of the plate that is very seldom seen without any chips.
The "Sawtooth Bands" are FINELY DETAILED and CRISPLY PRESSED on the underside of the plate... And the center of the plate also features a shallow BRANDY WELL. There are the usual old mould marks from the glassmaking process, like bubbles, straw marks, swirls/striations, and unique moulding anomalies; all characteristics inherent to antique glass.
