Engraving depicts mid 19th century woman dressed in elegant and fashionable full length dresses and period accessories. Brilliant early scene depicting fabulous scenes of woman in Fine Victorian fashion. Protected behind its original OG glass and framed in an equally brilliant period Eastlake Victorian era deep wood frame. The innermost molding is 1/2 wide, covered with striped gold painted burnish.
Following that is a 1/2 thick ebonized molding, hand-incised with geometric designs in classic Eastlake style to reveal the pale gesso layer beneath. The outermost molding is 1 1/2 thick walnut wood with a warm brown finish on either side of an ebonized portion.
Boasts intricate interior gesso detailing and layered edges. Backed with its original paper backing and retains original framers tag from Brehmer in Rutland, Vermont. Engraving in Good overall condition.Exhibits only a small chip to the top left corner interior gesso and some gentle scuffing to the exterior wood; very well preserved. A fine example of this deep wood antique Eastlake picture frame that displays tremendously. Exposed engraving messures 9 1/2 x 7 1/2.
