ANTIQUE VINTAGE AUTHENTIC SIGNED DELATTE NANCY LARGE GLASS VASE WITH ACID CAMEO. ANDRE DELATTE - Born 1887 Chatenois, France. In 1921, Andre Delatte opened his first glassworks factory Les Verreries de l'Est SA in Jarville, near Nancy. By 1926 with it's success, the workforce grew from about 30 to sixty skilled workers. Nearby competing glass maker Daum files a lawsuit against Delatte for counterfeiting. The two glassworks use the same techniques and the locations are close to each other.

Because of the competition with Daum, but especially of the great crisis (I assume reference is to the 1929 crash), Delatte liquidates his factory in 1938. LARGE GLASS VASE WITH ACID/ SANDBLAST FLORAL MOTIF. 11" high x 8" diameter (at the widest point). ETCHED INTO THE GLASS ALONG THE LOWER SIDE OF THE VASE. I owned and operated an antique and vintage Decorative Arts (statuary, vases, paintings) storefront in New York City called JOIA for 36 years.

I retired and moved to Florida in 1996 taking my remaining inventory. Enjoy this piece of French glass which has been in my possession since 1969 - that's 50 years!
