It measures 13.5 inches in diameter and depicts a beautiful scene of 2 nudes, 2 dogs, dead pheasants, bow and arrows and more. LAU" within the design, pictured, which if you look at the book "Steuben Glass an American Tradition in Crystal by Mary Jean Madigan you will see a lists of steuben artists and how they signed their works, it says Marie Laurencin signed it with M. Im reffering to the 1982 book, if you look at pages 204 it will show her name as well as the abbreviation for the name, page 206 third row pictured , third vase from the left is a piece of her design work. Also if you go the Corning Museum site and type in Laurencin you will see some exhibition pamphlets from 1940 with Marie Laurencin as one of the designers.

Also there is more info if you do a thorough internet search. I went through the Steuben book and this is really one of the nicer pieces and really has a lot more engraving then most prized pieces in the book.

It is signed Steuben on bottom, pictured. Im not sure if these were one of a kind pieces they created in 1939, and i dont know how many designs each artist did.

It is about as early a Steuben piece you are going to find. I went thru many museum sites such as Corning and others and they do not have pieces this nice, and almost none of them had pieces by Marie Laurencin.

Finding a piece from 1939 is extremely rare. I cant even find many of these pieces in the Museums so if you collect Steuben and especially rare early Steuben you probably wont find any better on the open market for sale.
