Higgins Signed Hand Crafted Art Glass Charger Classic Lines Pattern
Higgins Signed Hand Crafted Art Glass Charger Classic Lines Pattern. A wonderful example of mid-century art glass design! This item is a hand-crafted fused art charger plate, signed Higgins, from their very popular Classic Lines product line, dating I believe from the late 1950s.
No chips or cracks nor repairs, just typical signs of wear from the years, with some minor marking and scratches. The charger plate each measure about 12 1/4 across. It features white opal glass design cased in clear crystal then decorated with a gold spiral design. We are happy to send more pictures upon request. Michael and Frances Higgins were pioneers of the glass fusing method. They started working out of their Chicago apartment until 1957, then partnered with Dearborn Glass Company until 1966, where they then went back to private studio work.
