LALIQUE France on all the pieces produced there, but the idea did not cacth. While a few items from the period (The "Vases" plates and a few more) carry the VDA signature and logo, both "Pissenlits" and "Épis" have the traditional signature. Contrary to "Pissenlits", the "Épis" plates and bowls come in many sizes (8 in total 4 plates and 4 bowls), including the famous "coupes plates" (flat bowls) really more serving dishes than real bowls. No "Épis" item was ever re-introduced again.
This "coupe plate", the Nr 3, is 8.5" in diametre and has a circular high raised edge (over 1") which makes it a small serving dish or platter although it has the dimensions of a normal plate. While the difference between them is minimal, the "Plate" (no raised edge) is flatter than the "bowl". The motif is one of sculpted ears of wheat, 24 of them, in frosted gass which contrast against the rest of the plate which is clear. They radiate from a wide center where the motif is repeated in much smaller The signature, "R Lalique", is in the centre of the plate in higher-case raised letters, with "France" in script (photo 6).
This "Épis Nr 3" flat bowl (Coupe Plate) is photographed and repertoried in the big book by Felix Marcilhac, the unofficial Lalique "Bible", on page 753 of the 2011 French printing, under reference 3237 (photo 7). The condition is excellent, with no break, chip or even usage scratches, something rare.. This item is in the category "Pottery & Glass\Decorative Cookware, Dinnerware & Serveware\Plates".
