This is an original solid IITALA very heavy glass very very rare Scarce crystal over 70 years by the finnish company this feather like leaf hand signed hand blown ittala Tapio Wikkala is a classic design and very known by him. He never did curves always from nature the good stuff a anyay.

He did other types this one was hand signed on the edge see photo. This one in 1956 and there are no chips or flea bites. Its a beautiful piece of art glass. Please enlarge and look closely at photos and youll see signature.

Tapio Wirkkala IITALA 1956 on side ridge. It is 6.5 inches wide and 7.5 long. Underneath is the same as on top, its not the usual with a pontil etc. The back is stunning with a grained crystal feather effect.

HISTORY: Introduced at the Triennalen in Milan 1954 and was in production between 1954-60. , "Tapio Wirkkala, eye, hand and thought", Helsinki 2000. Tapio did a lot of mass produced items, cups, glasses, plates, saucers, cups... Their is art glass and a one off never seen again, its in perfect condition scarce.
